I liked the LEGO´s video but I´m not totally agree with it. Costa Rica is a good place, but is not the paradise the video tried to show. It is true that Costa Rica don´t have army and have a long area of natural reserves and it is very good, but we have poverty, delinquency, corruption, and a really bad infrastructure, for example the building of the public schools is not good at all , not all the pleople cares about the enviroment, Costa Rica have problems as all the countries, fortunately we have many good things too, like a high biodiversity and beautiful landscapes and the most important treasure: our culture.

ResponderEliminarIn my opinion, if a country can have a good education, health and the environment, could be considered the happiest country in the world.
ResponderEliminarCosta Rica has all the tools to be considered the happiest country in the world for example security is the lowest in Central America, health is one of the cheaper of the continent and education is free. When Nic Marks said, "In 2021 Costa Rica wants to be the first carbon neutral country.” I think is very difficult because not developed anything to make it.
If companies see that the country has good security and education, we will have a better image to around the world. The LEGO video said, "We are at the top export of technology”. Since INTEL had opened other technology companies started coming and started a culture of technology education in the country.
Costa Rica is a country where many people want to live and we have to take care as our ancestors did an example that other countries want to be but it is very difficult to achieve.
You have the point isaias beacause we have many good things like the health i did an investigation in the university about social medicine and we are not the best but neither the worst, we have a better position than others countries more advance than us that is a good advice to costa rica.
Eliminarbut the companies that export tecnology from here to anothers countries are foreings companies that install his servises here but are not costa rican's companies of course.

ResponderEliminarHaven´t an army its great but that doesn't mean we live in peace, we live with the same problems as other countries and i don´t think Costa Rica can reach about they want. They want to kill two birds with one rock, Nic Marks said, "Costa Rica wants to be the first carbon neutral country," but its going to be a hard job that its going to take to much time and money to be finish in 2021 and its going to be difficulty to make it when isn't already started.
I will say any country can be the happiest country but if they avoid the things that should be forget, as wars, and they concentrate in the important things such as study, jobs, environment and healthy citizens
Happiness is a feeling we have, when we succeed. if we reach our goals, we will be happy. Maybe we have easier goals than rest the world. He said Costa Rica is the happiest place on the world, but is it true? How they count a feeling? I think if we are conformist, we will be happy easier. Maybe that happened with the happiness poll.
ResponderEliminarIn the second video she said, "Costa Rica is a high technology spot." but this is a half true because we have companies installed here but they are private. We didn't do anything to develop that kind of factories. We only have people working there. Also she said, “Costa Ricans are developing that technology for migrating to the moon and going to Mars.” it is true but is obvious that we cannot build the spaceship. The video promotes good things about Costa Rica but it’s very summarized.

EliminarI agree with you about the happines is a feeling and for that reason can not be count but they said,"costa rica is the happiest place on the world". But they didnt say how they do the research. I think the idea was to say Costa Rica have people with the best communication on the world, living their life without be jealous or mad for something, as other countries that they are mad because another country have something that make it popular than they.

EliminarDavid you have a good point and I agree that it is difficult to measure a sense but I think the video speaks of human values. in the first video Nic Marks talks about the five ways to get welfare, he said to connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give. For example I can know if my family is happy about my relationship with them, I could see if we share time together, we care about eating healthy, we protect each other, learn from each other and if we satisfy our economic needs, then could say that my family is happy. If measured values of the people of a country, we would know the quality of life in this country. I think some countries today are very concerned about the technological advances and progress and are forgetting their values.
EliminarAbout the second video I think our technological contribution is very important, for example, in Costa Rica there are many companies that assemble parts for cars, which are necessary for the operation of these.
David has a lot of reason, people in costa rica are very conformist and how i said in mi coment we tray to hide the bad things and real facts, becausa we want to the rest of the world look this country like a happy paradise.
EliminarYou have reason too in what you said about tecnologic, the unique perso that ia doing something is Franklin chang and is not our tecnology, the others companies are foreing, they are from other countries, and they in some cases take especialist workers from here, in too few cases the boss is tico.
I agree with him because sometimes we only see the bad in life and accustomed us to see a tragic apocalypse. I think that with the advent of the progress, we forget of the basic values such as love and health and in my opinion these are the values that ultimately allow us to live a quality life and happy. Robert kennedy said , ¨ The Gross National Product measures everything except that which makes life worthwhile ". I think very difficult to measure the happiness of a country. If true that Costa Ricans have a long life compared to other countries but it is the result of not having army and we better take advantage of the natural resources. Such as Nic Marks said ¨ Costa Rica uses 99 percent of its electricity from renewable resources and that Costa Ricans also have invested heavily in social programs , health and education¨ . For example I admire Franklin Chan because he has built his laboratory in Costa Rica, so he showed to other countries as Costa Ricans are able and workers. Also former President Oscar Arias because he showed the world that in Costa Rica live in peace without stop fighting for our dutes as a country. So when people from other countries speak bad about Costa Rica, It´s all greek to me. I share the five ways to be wellbeing . Nic Marks said to connect , be active, take notice, keep learning and give. I think that our planet should fight to be happy.
ResponderEliminarI agree with Xinia because Costa Rica has been very concerned about the education of children in general. It is also true that we have longer life compared to other countries, this is because life in Costa Rica is more passive. We have no army. That's enough to have some tranquility, we also have less pollution than other countries. I agree with what Nic Marks said that 99% of resources are renewable in Costa Rica. I think there will always be good and bad comments made of Costa Rica but the important thing is that we are happy.

It is true that Costa Rica has problems as you say but compared to other countries is better than them.

The world's happiest country means that we have several advantages that other countries like nature in Guanacaste, the peaceful and healthy life in the area and may reach 75 years or more without showing any illness

ResponderEliminarWell, first i need say that we aren't the happiest country in the World, that is like the people sell the country by the tourist but is false, and why the people say that is because we are hide all bad things that hapens in our country and is really bad. Then i agree with ted men because he said the steps to follow if we want to be happier and that is truth. To find the real happiness we need to have a balance in ours lifes.besides, in costa rica the people are very selfish the are a young thurk because we are always bad with the planet the most people here never think in that is just a little part of us that is doing something for be a carbon neutral country also the problems are here too we hide the the real facts that is all truht and i hope that the people real want be better, if we want be happies, we will improve our behaboirs.

EliminarI don`t agree with what you said because it is true we have problems in Costa Rica but not too many problems. As Nic said it is true that 99 % our electricity comes from renewable resources. I believe we are first to be a carbón neutral country. The people in Costa Rica are happier than other countries. I know in all countries make good publications for tourists is normal but in Costa Rica if you want, you don´t need much to be happy.
I think is very important for Costa Rica to think about solutions for a better life,Nic Marks said Figting for the environmental movement, to mature and progress it .It is best to improve the condition of life of every human being. As Robert kenedy said, ´Gross National Product measures everything except that which makes life worthwhile´ . I agree that if you ask people around the world what they want, they would say to be happy and to be with their families. I agree with the natural human aspirations to love and to be loved and of, course to, have health. And it's true we have only one planet and we have to share. The problem is that we are unfair to the natural resources that we have around the world and it is true that people are happier in Costa Rica because there are many things for which we do not worry. I think that all the people should strive for a happy planet . As Nic said, ¨To try to do the five things that help happiness: Connect , Be active , Take notice, Keep learning and Give.¨ Martin Lutlher King said, ´we can all see the promised land if we want`.
ResponderEliminarSecond video of Lego people say that Costa Ricans can live 100 years. I agree that we do not suffer the stress of having an army not like other countries. In other countries lack of work, the poverty, too much traffic, and malnutrition all make people unhappy. Education in Costa Rica is one of the main objectives of this country. I am proud of all the nice things they said about the Costa Ricans. I had the opportunity to live in other countries but I wouldn´t change my life in Costa Rica. I know Costa Rica has problems but compared with other countries they are small.
I 100% agree with you, Costa Rica is a beautiful country, when you say, "We have only one planet" Costa Rica is one of few countries that is cared for with laws protecting the environment and now with an education recyclable.
EliminarIt is also true that we have many problems But if we look other countries are not as bad such as wars and terrorist attacks, major companies have a chance to come and give work to the country's economy is not bad.
emilce I agree with you that it is true that Costa Rica invests many resources for Costa Ricans to have a quality education and thank god we haven’t army and we live in a country which has many natural resources maybe that makes people in our country have long life and we be happier. but also like you said, ¨ have pollution problems, poverty that make people unhappy ¨.
